The World Cement Association (WCA) announced the opening of its Beijing and President’s office. The facility will be an addition to the association’s headquarters in London and will be located at the building of China National Building Material Group (CNBM).
“We are delighted to further expand our presence in China by opening our World Cement Association Beijing and President’s office,” said Norman Greig, secretary general of the WCA. “As the producer of more than 50 percent of the world’s cement, China plays an important role in the global cement industry, so I am very pleased that CNBM is giving us the opportunity to open an office in China.”
The office will also include the WCA Technology Center, the WCA Research Institute and WCA Climate Change liaison. The Beijing site will allow the association to deepen its ties with Chinese cement producers and other stakeholders and to build links and share best practice with surrounding markets.
The WCA will hold its General Assembly and WCA World Cement Conference in association with Intercem at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on Dec. 5. WCA members and stakeholder will come together to discuss future challenges for the industry, such as digitalization, demand and supply and climate change.
