Hours after announcing a temporarily halt to production in Mexico, CEMEX will resume operations to support the development and economy of the country during the COVID-19 contingency, in accordance with new technical guidelines published in the official Mexican gazette.
The company had previously announced it would suspend operations until at least April 30 due to government guidelines.
CEMEX will fully comply with all measures indicated by the Ministry of Health, as well as other best practices to operate in a safe and responsible environment. The health and safety of employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and communities is a top priority for the company, and CEMEX will continue to enforce its health protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
“As soon as the COVID-19 threat emerged, we activated our Rapid Response Teams to implement preventive measures in response to this unprecedented health crisis,” said Fernando A. Gonzalez, CEO of CEMEX. “I want to express our full support to the Mexican government and society during this difficult time. We are aware of the challenge we face, but I am confident that we will overcome this situation together.”
