Votorantim Cimentos Begins Operations at Pecém

Votorantim Cimentos’ new production line at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex in Brazil is operational. As a result of the expansion, the site now has a production capacity of approximately 1 million tonnes of cement per year compared to a previous capacity of 200,000 tonnes annually.

Led by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in partnership with the UN Global Compact and the “We Mean Business” coalition, the initiative aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.
