The World Cement Association (WCA) further expanded its international network of members by welcoming Concrete-AI as an associate corporate member.
Concrete-AI is a Los Angeles-based company, providing an artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) platform that can reduce material costs in concrete by 5% to 10%, and embodied CO2 by up to 50%, without compromising performance.
The cloud-based platform applies pioneering data analytics from machine learning to optimize concrete formulations by accurately predicting concrete’s performance as a function of its mixed design.
“Reducing the environmental impact of cement and concrete and improving energy efficiency is one of the most important challenges we have today when it comes to cutting emissions and making global net-zero a reality,” explained Ian Riley, CEO at WCA. “Technologies like Concrete-AI address these challenges and have a vital role to play in moving concrete to the age of artificial intelligence, benefiting the cement sector and our members around the world, so we are very pleased to be welcoming them today.”
Concrete-AI’s mission is to accelerate the decarbonization of concrete while ensuring certainty of performance, compliance with existing codes and standards. It enables sustainability by optimizing the use of cement, aggregates, and diverse supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) in concrete, in an unparalleled manner by a data-driven approach.
