S&P Global announced updates to the composition of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, where Cementos Argos secured its position for the 13th consecutive year.
The Colombian-based cement company achieved a score of 89 out of 100, earning first place in the construction materials industry, while Grupo Argos, its parent company, scored 85 points, placing second in the same sector. Both companies stood out for exceptional performance in social, environmental, and corporate governance practices.
These achievements led to Cementos Argos being included in the MILA Index and Grupo Argos being reaffirmed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Emerging Markets Index.
“In our 90 years of history, we have demonstrated that creating value can go hand in hand with collective well-being and environmental stewardship,” Jorge Mario Velásquez, president, Grupo Argos. “Therefore, more than just a medal, this result reflects an institutional commitment to doing things right, implementing the best environmental, social, and governance practices in every industry where we operate.”
