Heidelberg Hosts Congresswoman at Mason City Plant

Heidelberg Materials hosted U.S. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa-02) and her team at its cement plant in Mason City, Iowa, last month.

A key highlight of the visit was the opportunity to showcase the plant’s alternative fuel system for Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF). This innovative system is a cornerstone of the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in cement manufacturing. Congresswoman Hinson gained a firsthand perspective on operations and met the dedicated team that operates and maintains the facility.

“It was inspiring to see Heidelberg Materials’ innovative, global business operate in Mason City and better understand the impact it has on not only Iowa’s economic prosperity, but the broader Midwest region,” said Rep. Hinson. “I enjoyed taking the opportunity to visit with the team and learn more about the day-to-day operations and talented workforce. Iowa is on the front lines of producing vital materials, resources, and critical components for the construction industry. I am so impressed with the continued investment in critical infrastructure at the Mason City plant and the hardworking team at Heidelberg Materials.”

Heidelberg officials said Rep. Hinson has been a strong advocate for investment and job creation in Iowa. Her efforts to bolster the manufacturing sector and expand workforce development across the state have been instrumental in driving growth and opportunity.
