The agenda for the comprehensive Blended Cements Workshop in Atlanta on Oct. 22 has been released. The in-person event is hosted by the American Cement Association (ACA), along with industry partners, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) and American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC).
The workshop is designed to provide practical guidance, expert insight, and real-world project examples with case studies, roundtable discussions, and project showcases.
The schedule for the event:
- 9 a.m. – Welcome Speech, Michelle Wilson, senior director, concrete technology and industry outreach, ACA.
- 9:15 a.m. – Future of Cement, Michelle Wilson, ACA.
- 10:15 a.m. – Manufacture of PLC, Wayne Wilson, technical services – quality control manager, Heidelberg Materials.
- 10:45 a.m. – Evaluation of Cementitious Materials, Brian Killingsworth, executive vice president and division head, promotion and codes, NRMCA.
- 11:15 a.m. – Quality Control, Justin Lazenby, vice president of technical services, Thomas Concrete.
- 12 p.m. – Lunch Break (lunch provided).
- 1 p.m. – Fresh Concrete Performance Needs, Michael Hernandez, technical director, ASCC.
- 1:30 p.m. – Working with Blended Cements: Contractor Perspective, Jon Tuggle, executive vice president, Martin Concrete Construction.
- 2 p.m. – Project Showcases (panel discussion).
- 2:30 p.m. – Roundtable Discussion (group activity).
- 3:30 p.m. – Closing Remarks.
