The HTA Tube Hone stands out due to its all-electric drive, which ensures quieter operation and provides better control and greater accuracy during bore reversals. The compact design saves valuable floor space, setting it apart from traditional horizontal tube honing systems, noted the manufacturer.
At its core is a Siemens Servo Stroker motor with belt drive, delivering smooth and precise operation. The spindle unit, rated at 3 hp (2.24 kW) with adjustable stroker speeds from 5 to 90 ft./min (1.5 to 27.4 meters/min), ensures robust power for resurfacing and repair tasks at spindle speeds of 20 to 300 rpm.
Efficiency and safety are prioritized with a programmable auto tool feed system, an ergonomic Siemens PLC color touch screen, a stroker joystick for precise tool positioning and stroke length adjustment, and a stroke control override feature for effective clean-up in tight spaces.
The HTA Tube Hone is equipped with a 55-gal. coolant filtration unit with quick disconnects and a manual paper filter, enabling clean coolant and extended abrasive life. Its flexible operator station offers multilingual controls and metric/inch conversion options, making it ideal for global markets. The load meter and universal V-block work holding system allow for real-time feedback and fast fixturing, while compatibility with ANR-275 tooling minimizes tooling changeover costs.
