The California Nevada Cement Association (CNCA) reported a major milestone for California’s cement industry.
With Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) now available from all cement producers statewide, California leads the way in providing transparent, Life Cycle Assessment-based data that supports lower-carbon, resilient construction.
This level of consistency and accountability is still rare nationally, and it positions California for smarter, more sustainable infrastructure decisions, the association said.
- 100% of California cement producers have EPDs in place.
- Enables carbon-conscious consumers to make sustainable cement-based choices.
- 7 million tons of cement are produced in California annually.
- California cement-based EPDs show a lower global warming potential (GWP) than the national average.
- GWP values are determined using cradle-to-gate lifecycle analysis.
Since being founded in 1991, CNCA has built a reputation as a trusted technical resource. Its team has evolved into a sought-after resource for expertise on a wide range of topics related to materials, design and construction, for private and public entities.
