For the third consecutive year, Votorantim Cimentos received an A score in climate change based on an assessment conducted by CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system for companies, capital markets, cities, states and regions.
With an “A” rating, the producer is part of the select group of 4% of companies globally that are recognized for leading best practices in environmental disclosure.

Votorantim Cimentos ended 2024 with global emissions of 550 kg of CO2 per tonne of cementitious materials produced, a reduction of 27.9% compared to 1990, the baseline year used by the cement industry. Compared to 2023, when its emissions were 556 kg of CO2 per tonne of cementitious material, the company reduced its emissions per tonne of product manufactured by 1% in 2024.
Votorantim Cimentos’ 2030 decarbonization target, approved by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), is 475 kg of CO2 per tonne of cementitious product. In addition, the producer aims to produce carbon-neutral concrete by 2050.
CDP uses a detailed and independent methodology to score companies from A to D based on the level of comprehensiveness in disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and incorporation of best practices, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets. Companies that do not disclose their impacts or provide insufficient information receive an F score. CDP holds the most comprehensive and valuable environmental database in the world, and its scores are widely used to inform investment decisions in support of a zero-carbon, sustainable and resilient economy.
