The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) continues to grow its global membership base with the announcement of two new member companies and three new affiliates. Membership now totals 38 member companies and 18 affiliates.
The new member companies – Cementos Progreso Sociedad Anὀnima (Guatemala) and Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company Ltd. (Cyprus) – were endorsed by the GCCA board at the association’s recent global conference in Singapore. Their membership brings GCCA a step closer to its near-term goal of representing at least 50% of global cement production capacity.
In addition, the association confirmed three new affiliates: Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia and Cement Industry Federation, both of Australia; and VDZ of Germany. Affiliates are not formal members but partner with GCCA in order to achieve shared goals and specific objectives.
“We are delighted to welcome Cementos Progreso and Vassiliko Cement Works as members of the GCCA,” said Benjamin Sporton, GCCA chief executive officer. “The continued growth in our membership and affiliated national and regional cement and concrete associations, combined with our strong ongoing program of work, clearly demonstrate our commitment to becoming the authoritative voice for the industry at the global level.”
