Dragon Products Co. LLC has agreed to pay $67,000 for air emission violations at its Thomaston, Maine, cement plant, reported the Bangor Daily News.
The violations, which spanned a five-year period from 2013 to 2018, were discovered through reports filed by Dragon and a subsequent investigation conducted by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
According to the Maine DEP’s July 2020 monthly enforcement report, Dragon exceeded its baghouse inlet temperature limits on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2018. It also had multiple carbon monoxide emission violations in 2015 and 2016, among other noncompliant actions during the five-year span.
