Cementos Bío Bío appointed Iñaki Otegui as its new CEO, effective Aug. 1. Otegui replaces Jorge Matus, who resigned after 39 years with the company.
Cementos Bío Bío produces and sells building materials for construction and mining projects. Its operations are divided into two business areas: Cement, including the manufacture of cement, limestone, concrete, mortar, and aggregates; and Ceramics. The company is based in Concepción in Chile’s southern region VIII.
As Chile’s largest cement producer, Cementos Bío Bío has four integrated plants at Curicó, Antofagasta, Talcahuano and San Antonio, and a total cement capacity of 3.28 Mt annually.
