Lafarge has announced the sale of its cement operations in Honduras to Columbian cement producer Cementos Argos for $306 million. According to a statement released by Lafarge, Cementos Argos will buy the company’s 53.3 percent stake, subject to relevant regulatory approvals.
The Honduras purchase follows Cementos Argos’ acquisition of Lafarge’s U.S. assets two years ago. The Honduras assets include an integrated cement plant with 1 million ton capacity and a grinding station with a 0.3 million ton capacity.
