More than 100 Lafarge customers and staff recently gathered in Nova Scotia for the 50th anniversary of the Brookfield cement plant and reflect on its continued role in building the Atlantic Canada region. Officials characterized the event as an important milestone marking five decades of customer excellence, industrial performance and community partnership at the region’s sole cement plant.

Lafarge Eastern Canada CEO Bruno Roux acknowledged employees’ commitment to health and safety, noting how the site had just reached six years without a lost time accident. Roux emphasized corporate pride in a plant that has contributed to homes, buildings and roads integral to daily life in Atlantic Canada.
