CalPortland rolled out a new line of blended portland-limestone cements (PLC) last month. With up to 15% blended limestone by mass, ADVANCEMENT represents CalPortland’s commitment to providing environmentally friendly products, through the use of sustainable materials and renewable technologies.
The two charter offerings have an embodied carbon level approximately 10% below that of common ASTM C 150 materials. ADVANCEMENT LT (Light) is a lighter colored, higher albedo Type IL PLC suiting concrete in design and architectural conditions. ADVANCEMENT HS (High Sulfate) is formulated for general use concrete or when high sulfate resistance is required.
ADVANCEMENT can also be combined with other carbon-reducing technologies to further enhance concrete performance and continually lower the net carbon dioxide emissions of finished slabs and structures.
“CalPortland continues its commitment to offering sustainable materials and innovative solutions,” said CalPortland President and CEO Allen Hamblen. “Portland-limestone cements (PLCs) significantly reduce the amount of CO2 emissions produced during the cement manufacturing process without sacrificing performance. The ADVANCEMENT line of products is another key solution to helping CalPortland achieve its carbon reduction goals.”
The company stated that additional ADVANCEMENT products are to be announced soon. For more information, click here.
