Lehigh Cement’s Mitchell, Ind., operation hosted members from the new Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) District Office in Vincennes, Ind., for a tour in July.
As part of its “One MSHA” initiative, the regulatory agency recently combined coal and metal/non-metal oversight and inspection, and established the new Vincennes office. In an effort to share perspectives and become acquainted with the new office administration and inspector group, the Lehigh Cement opened its doors for a tour of the manufacturing plant and lab.
“The tour was an opportunity to discuss our cement manufacturing and mining operations from a regulatory perspective. Working collaboratively with MSHA is important to keep our people safe and help us continue to be a safety leader in the industry,” said the company.
