LafargeHolcim has appointed Toufic Tabbara as chief executive officer of U.S. Cement operations. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in the construction-materials industry that will help lead the organization through the next phase of growth.
Tabbara succeeds Jamie Gentoso, who was recently named global head of the Solutions & Products business unit and group executive committee member.
“Toufic is a proven leader in this industry. With a professional background that crosses diverse business divisions and spans both United States and global geographies, he is well positioned to drive continued growth across the U.S. cement business,” said the company.
Tabbara joined LafargeHolcim in 1998, beginning his career in the gypsum division, followed by roles in ready mix, asphalt and construction operations in the United States and Canada. In 2012, he was named Country CEO for Jordan, and most recently served as Country CEO for Algeria.
Tabbara holds undergraduate and graduate business administration degrees from American University in Beirut and Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
