Heidelberg Materials Selects WSP for Edmonton CCUS Project

Heidelberg Materials announced engineering and sustainability leader WSP as the Owner’s Engineers for a carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) project at its Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, plant.

The new facility, which is slated to begin construction late next year, will be the cement industry’s first full-scale application of carbon capture. It is expected to capture more than 1 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.
