The Portland Cement Association (PCA) announced the winners of its 2023 Energy and Environment Awards, which are given to companies that have implemented outstanding environmental practices and have forged exemplary relationships with communities where their cement plants are located.
Submissions from plants across the U.S. were evaluated and recognized for environmental efforts completed in 2022.
The 2023 PCA Energy and Environment Award recipients are:
- Environmental Performance: CalPortland, Mojave Cement Plant, Mojave, Calif.
- Energy Efficiency: Alamo Cement (Buzzi Unicem USA), Alamo Cement Plant, San Antonio, Texas.
- Energy Efficiency: Roanoke Cement Co. (Titan America), Troutville Plant, Troutville, Va.
- Land Stewardship: Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, Louisville Plant, Louisville, Neb.
- Outreach: Buzzi Unicem USA, Maryneal Plant, Maryneal, Texas.
- Outreach: Heidelberg Materials, Union Bridge Cement Plant, Union Bridge, Md.
- Overall Excellence: Ash Grove Cement, a CRH Company, Louisville Plant, Louisville, Neb.
- Innovative Technologies: Titan Florida (Titan America), Pennsuco Cement Plant, Medley, Fla.
