The Port of Los Angeles recently released a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for a proposed low-carbon cement processing facility for Ecocem Materials through its subsidiary Orcem California.
The facility would import raw materials by ship and truck, temporarily store and process them to produce a low-carbon binder, then transport the product to local customers via third-party trucks. The proposed operation would be located at Berths 191-194 at the port.
The Port of Los Angeles is holding a virtual public meeting via Zoom to receive comments on the DEIR, which can be viewed here, on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. No registration is required.
Written comments may be submitted via email to [email protected] or to the following address during the public comment period through Monday, Nov. 27:
