The Portland Cement Association (PCA) is considering a rebranding effort, which would include changing the name of the association.
This rebranding consideration is based on significant changes to the industry in recent years, including the increased production of blended cements in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
“As I have encountered, our national trade association is often misunderstood as a local or regional organization. What’s more, portland cement no longer adequately represents the products PCA member companies manufacture, as they increasingly produce blended cements in today’s environmentally conscious marketplace,” said Mike Ireland, PCA president and CEO. “It is without doubt that PCA has had a significant past. This exercise is to carefully consider our future.”
PCA has engaged independent market research company Erdos Media Research for data collection, process and analysis of results to a brief survey.
