Total shipments of portland and blended cement, including imports, in the United States and Puerto Rico in June 2025 were an estimated 9.16 million metric tons (Mt), a slight decrease from shipments in June 2024, according to the most recent USGS Mineral Industry Survey. Shipments for the year through June totaled an estimated 47.0 Mt, a 5.3% decrease from those for the same period in 2024.
Of total blended tonnage reported year-to-date in 2025, 28.4 Mt (96%) was estimated to be portland-limestone cement (Type IL); the leading destination for Type IL shipments by tonnage was Texas.
The leading producing states for portland and blended cement in June 2025 were, in descending order, Texas, Missouri, California, Florida and Alabama. The leading cement-consuming states (Texas, California, Florida, Ohio and Illinois, in descending order) received 38.0% of shipments in June.
Masonry cement shipments totaled an estimated 188,000 metric tons (t) in June 2025, a 4.0% increase from those in June 2024. Shipments for the year through June totaled an estimated 1.05 Mt, a decrease of 6.1% from those for the same period in 2024. The leading masonry cement-consuming states in June 2025 were, in descending order, Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee; these states received 52.5% of shipments in June.
Clinker production, excluding Puerto Rico, totaled an estimated 6.29 Mt in June 2025, a slight decrease from that in June 2024. Production for the year through June totaled an estimated 30.8 Mt, an 8.2% decrease from the same period in 2024. The leading clinker-producing states in June 2025 were, in descending order, Texas, Missouri, California, Florida and Michigan; these states accounted for 47.7% of clinker produced.
