Cemex Eyes Divestment of Dominican Republic Business

Cemex is exploring the potential sale of its business in the Dominican Republic as it focuses on larger markets, reported Bloomberg, noting that the non-core asset could fetch more than $1 billion.

Deliberations are early stage and may not lead to a transaction, according to Bloomberg’s sources.

Cemex started operating in the Dominican Republic in 1995. The company’s San Pedro de Macoris cement plant has an annual production capacity of 2.4 million metric tons.
